Sleeping Beauty 2025

SLEEPING BEAUTY
The Victory Hall
3rd - 8th February 2025

Join us for a spectacular journey in the magical land of Slumberland with the Indian Queens Pantomime Society's enchanting production of Sleeping Beauty! Our show will be held at The Victory Hall from February 3rd to 8th, 2025. This is a perfect family outing filled with adventure, comedy, and the timeless battle between good and evil.

In the mystical kingdom of Slumberland, the spirited and adventurous Princess Aurora stands on the threshold of a great adventure. Ready to claim her place in the royal family, Aurora dreams of more than just love. Unbeknownst to her, dark forces are at work. Her aunt, the wicked Carabosse, has plotted against her and her family, seeking revenge for being excluded from the family fortune by Aurora's mother, the Queen of Hearts.

Aurora's father, Old King Cole, is a merry yet forgetful ruler, often under the watchful eye of his bossy and worrisome wife, the Queen of Hearts. The Queen, who inherited the crown and title, mollycoddles both her husband and daughter, oblivious to her sister Carabosse's vengeful schemes.

Carabosse, bitter about her exclusion from the family's fortune, drags her own daughter, Avarice, into her nefarious plans. Once friends with Aurora, Avarice now finds herself reluctantly involved in her mother's evil deeds. Meanwhile, the palace is a flurry of activity with the lovable and confused Muddles providing plenty of slapstick comedy, and the warm, nurturing Nanny Nightnurse, who also serves as the schoolteacher to Aurora, Avarice, and Muddles, keeping everyone in line with her emotional and hearty demeanor.

In this tale of good versus evil, Prince Arthur, a kind and charming prince, though not quite a warrior, arrives in Slumberland. His heart is set on helping Aurora and winning her love. However, their path is fraught with challenges, not least because of the well-meaning but often flustered Archbishop Archie, known for his Freudian slips, especially around Nanny Nightnurse.

Amidst this chaos, three fairies provide guidance and magic. Fairy Starlight, with her fun and welcoming personality, Fairy Moonbeam, a mystical being with deep and powerful magic, and Fairy Dust, an elderly fairy prone to falling asleep at inopportune moments, all play crucial roles in Aurora's journey.

As the story unfolds, we also meet the younger versions of our main characters: the energetic and determined Young Aurora, the clumsy yet earnest Young Arthur, and the mischievous Young Avarice, who still shares a bond with Aurora before Carabosse's malevolence drives them apart.

The chorus brings to life the vibrant Citizens of Slumberville, the lively Party Guests, the diligent Palace Officials, and even the eerie Nightmares that haunt our tale. In the enchanting land of Slumberland, dreams and nightmares come alive, and the power of true love and friendship is put to the ultimate test.

Join us for a night of laughter, magic, and heartwarming moments. Don't miss the Indian Queens Pantomime Society's production of Sleeping Beauty—a timeless story brought to life with an exciting new twist. Tickets will be available soon for performances from February 3rd to 8th, 2025, at The Victory Hall. Book your seats and be part of this enchanting adventure!

Let's make memories together in Slumberland!
